KTD Creative has had the opportunity to work with multiple institutions within the Smithsonian network, including the museum featured in this project, as well as the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Our work with Washington, D.C.’s cultural institutions has also extended to organizations such as the National Building Museum, reflecting our longstanding experience creating sophisticated communications for some of the District’s most distinguished museums and cultural organizations.
For the Smithsonian Institution, KTD Creative designed a visually compelling brochure titled Charting the Next Century of Discovery and Exploration, highlighting the institution’s vision for the future. As the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex—with 21 museums, 14 education and research centers, and the National Zoo—the Smithsonian plays an extraordinary role in preserving global heritage, advancing discovery, and making knowledge accessible to audiences around the world.
The brochure brings that mission to life through an immersive visual approach, pairing close-up imagery of intricate animal textures with rare museum artifacts and carefully considered typography and composition. The result is a sophisticated editorial experience that connects the Smithsonian’s extraordinary collections and history with its forward-looking vision for the next century of discovery.
KTD Creative also designed two separate invitations for this Smithsonian museum, creating distinctive, polished communications tailored to individual events while maintaining the level of refinement expected of the institution.
Together, these projects demonstrate KTD Creative’s ability to translate the missions of major cultural institutions into beautiful, strategic print communications that invite audiences to engage with their stories, collections, and vision for the future.
